Before he became an actor, Aditya Roy Kapur was a Video Jockey for almost four years. By his own admission, he did not take acting seriously till he bagged his first film and to this day remains passionate about his music. But unlike his Aashiqui 2 and OK Jaanu co-star, Shraddha Kapoor, Aditya has not given playback in any film yet nor released any single. Bring that up and the actor, who played a musician in his debut film, London Dreams, and remains memorable as Aashiqui 2’s Rahul Jaykar, sits up straight and slams the table. “You hit a raw nerve there!” he exclaims and assures, “I definitely hope to put out some of my music in the coming year.”
Aditya, who showcased his musical talent on Karan Johar’s chat show in the past and has more recently strummed the guitar when on Indian Idol 11, admits that he wants to release an album soon. “That is something I always wanted to explore even before I became an actor. It had just taken a backseat as acting took precedence. I still play the guitar and write songs, now, it’s just about finding the time to go into a studio, maybe collaborate with some musicians and make something of it,” points out the actor.
