MUMBAI MIRROR (November 18, 2019)
On Friday, Parineeti Chopra tweeted a picture from the sets of her upcoming sports drama, Saina, suggesting that she had injured her neck during prep in an effort to ace her game. Reacting to the injury with “shit happens!”, she admitted that she would rest as much as possible before she starts playing badminton again.
Mirror has now learnt that the actress had a major spasm in her neck and spine. The physiotherapist has advised her to take a break from playing for 10 days. “The shoot is being recalibrated keeping Parineeti’s injury in mind. The badminton portions will now be shot only in December, thereby giving her 15-20 days to recover,” a source revealed.
The actress has been given more cooling off period than required to make sure she doesn’t hurt the sensitive areas of her neck again. She is undergoing physiotherapy daily and will get back on court in a fortnight.
A biopic of Olympian Saina Nehwal, the Bhushan Kumar production, directed by Amole Gupte is eyeing a summer 2020 release.
