Vikram Bhatt, who has become synonymous with horror films in the recent times, is saddened by the demise of Shyam Ramsay, the man who made the genre a cult affair in Hindi cinema in the 1970s and ’80s. The Raaz director feels that the late filmmaker was not only innovative, but also regaled his audience with fabulous spooky stories from time to time.
“Shyam Ramsay carried the torch of horror films right through the ’70s and the ’80s. Even amongst the Ramsay Brothers, he was considered to be the leader of the group,” said Vikram, adding, “His passing is indeed sad and his contribution to dark films will always be held in high esteem.”
On his part, Vikram has been keeping the horror genre alive in B-Town with movies like Raaz 3D, Raaz Reboot, 1920, 1921 and Haunted 3D.
