SHADAA smashed all records for Punjabi films as it collected 9.25 crore nett in its first weekend beating the 8.30 crore nett record of CARRY ON JATTA 2. That film is also the highest grossing film ever for the Punjabi film industry.

SHADAA has manage to show some good growth from a big start as the big multiplexes went up over the weekend. The highest Punjabi grosser this year is MUKLAWA at 12 crore nett and this film should beat the figures of that film in five days flat.

The numbers in places like Chandigarh and Ludhiana illustrate how big this film is as it grossed 1.31 crore nett in Chandigarh compared to 77 lakh nett of KABIR SINGH. In Ludhiana it was a huge 88 lakh nett compared to the 27 lakh nett of KABIR SINGH. The figure in Ludhiana was also higher than BHARAT which did 79 lakh nett.

TOTAL - 9,25,00,000 apprx

If the film did not have competition of KABIR SINGH, it was certain to cross 10 crore nett over the weekend and the figure could have gone towards 11 crore nett. Now it is about the holds over the weekdays as the film attempts to become the top Punjabi film of all time.
