Salman Khan may be a superstar. But for the Dabangg Khan, it is his father Salim Khan who remains his superhero. At a recent media interaction for the success of his latest release, when we asked the actor about portraying a 70-year-old man onscreen, Salman was reminded of his dad. “I feel I should look like him when I get to that age,” he told us. The 83-year-old writer is an inspiration for Salman when it comes to fitness. “He walks three rounds of Bandra Bandstand, does Pilates, yoga and a bit of weight training too,” he revealed.
Not only that, the actor admires his dad for the way he lives his life. “He is interested in things around him and he’s in with the times. He talks to us at our wavelength and converses with my nephews as if he is their age. He has really adapted well, but then, he is the coolest dad there is,” says the doting son.
His father is also his most honest critic, Salman feels. When Bharat released, he apparently told the actor, ‘So jao, picture hit hai’ But yes, he’s yet to hear any direct compliment from his dad. “Only once or twice he’s said, ‘Acha kaam kiya hai’,” shares Khan with a smile.
