Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to debut on the digital platform with Mrs Serial Killer, a thriller. Incidentally, she is the first Bollywood mainstream actress to make the transition. “When a husband is framed and imprisoned for serial murders, a doting wife must perform a murder exactly like the serial killer, to prove her husband innocent,” is how the OTT platform on which the film will be streamed described it.
The actress, who has hits like Judwaa 2, the Housefull series and Kick to her credit, will be seen in an edgy role in Mrs Serial Killer. To get into the skin of her character, the leggy beauty, we hear, has been binge-watching on shows and films in a genre similar to her web outing.
“Jacqueline is a happy-go-lucky person and has a vibrant personality, so she found it difficult to show expressions such as anger, sorrow, jealousy and hatred. The actress feels that to express the character, she had to feel it first, so, she saw these films to enhance the acting experience.”
When we spoke to the Race 3 actress, she said, “I feel that in order to be equipped with the gravity of every emotion, it is necessary to understand the depth. My character can be in a grey zone and I have to be prepared to be able to do it in the genre that the movie is set in. I chose to watch the films that would send chills down my spine, and also some that were thought-provoking. Particularly, like You, The Hunt For The BTK Killer, Mindhunter, Darr, Saath Khoon Maaf, Ahilya and Raman Raghav 2.0 made me understand the minutest details that would go into portraying a character of so many layers.”
Jacqueline has already started shooting for the film in Mumbai.
