Actress Swara Bhasker and her brother Ishan, who launched their production banner, Kahaaniwaaley Entertainment and Media Ventures Pvt. Ltd, recently, are all set to announce their first project. The yet-untitled biopic is based on the hard-hitting story of Krishna Sen alias Sweety Sen (right), a woman who pretended to be a man and married at least two women.

For four years, Sweety made the world believe that she was a man, and allegedly seduced many eligible women on the internet, leading to several arranged marriages in her ‘male’ avatar. While the project is in the scripting stage, the makers have bought the rights to Sweety’s story, and they plan to start pre-production in the next few months. The movie will go on floors this year.

Ishan says, “Having portrayed several unconventional and bold characters in many films, including Anaarkali Of Aarah, Nil Battey Sannata, Veere Di Wedding and her latest web series, It’s Not That Simple, we were looking for a story that would match the performance potential of Swara’s previous films. This project will allow her to portray a mysterious real-life character as well as bring a strangely true story to life on the big screen. We want to explore the psychology of Sweety Sen. Swara’s bindaas attitude and the ability to take on challenging roles make her an ideal choice to play the main role.”

Talking about their new production banner, Ishan adds, “The basic idea is to support films, scripts and filmmakers who have great stories, but for one reason or the other are struggling to tell them.”
