Towards the fag end of last year, December 18, Sajid Nadiadwala announced that Tiger Shroff would return as rebel Ronny in the third installment of the Baaghi franchise which would be unveiled on March 6, 2020. Now, Mirror has learnt that Ahmed Khan, who returns as the director, will take the action-packed adventure on the floors May-end. “The challenge is to take Baaghi 3 a notch higher from the previous two films so while Tiger fought off the goons in a building in Part 1 and in a jungle in its sequel, this time he will be defending a city or taking the battle to the desert. The story is still being scripted so one is still in the dark about the details,” informed a source close to the development.

While the original was written by Sanjeev Datta, Part 2 was scripted by Nadiadwala, Ahmed, Abbas Hierapurwala and Niraj Kumar Mishra. Now, the team has got Farhad Samji on board. He had penned the Singham franchise, Chennai Express and Bol Bachchan with his erstwhile partner, Sajid Samji, and more recently Simmba alone. He also took over the reins of Housefull 4, as a director, from Sajid Khan after the latter was outed.

Talking about his association with the film, Farhad said, “The number 3 is very close to my heart as the two most special films of my career are Golmaal 3 and Housefull 3. For Baaghi 3, Tiger is already a star and his character is an icon, so the writing has come with its own set of challenges. As a team, we promise three times the fun and most importantly, three times the action.”

Meanwhile, Tiger has been bulking up as the action sequences will be on the lines of Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo. “He will be a larger-than-life, shirtless hero,” added the source. “An international stunt team will choreograph the action.”

Speaking to Mirror earlier (December 25, 2018), the actor had said, “The USP of the franchise is action, not nonsensical stuff but action with an emotional core. We want to get bigger and better with every film.”
