SIMMBA had a super strong hold on Wednesday with collections in the 14 crore nett range. The film is back to normal ticket rating, in fact they are a little cheaper due to a reduction of GST though NETT pricing is normal. The fall in collections from day one is just 30% and this is day six after a holiday period.
The film is a SUPER HIT and Friday will tell if the film has a chance of becoming a BLOCKBUSTER film and the third biggest HIT of 2018. The plus for the film is that it's doing well across the country (barring Tamil Nadu/Kerala). A circuit like West Bengal which under performs for this genre is at 7.25 crore nett in six days and crossed BAAGHI 2 already. It is doing better than Bihar which is expected to be best out of the East India markets for this genre due to the single screens.
The collections are now over 138 crore nett and the film should get near the 150 crore nett mark in the first week which will be the second best first week of 2018 and the 11th best of all time.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Friday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,75,00,000 apprx.
Sunday - 31,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 21,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 28,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 14,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,38,75,00,000 apprx
------------------------------
SIMMBA had an excellent first week with collections of over 150 crore nett. The film had a very good start in Maharashtra and was pretty good in other places but by Sunday it was excellent all over and since then it has sustained superbly across the country. The collections post the holiday period are very strong.
The film has collected a huge 55 crore nett apprx in Mumbai and the Delhi/UP collections are 31 crore nett. It is the 11th highest first week collection of all time and the second best of 2018 after SANJU. The trend in the first week confirms its SUPER HIT status unless it has a miraculous 60% plus drop on Friday which is not likely.
A very good result will be a 20-30% drop which will mean the film, will probably go and and become a BLOCKBUSTER film.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Friday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 31,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 21,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 28,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 14,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 11,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,50,50,00,000 apprx
------------------------------
SIMMBA had a super strong hold on day eight with collections of 9.25 crore nett. This took the collections of the film to 160 crore nett and with such a strong trend the film is a BLOCKBUSTER It is one of the highest second Friday's of all time.
The film had no competition at the box office with the Hollywood film BUMBLEBEE being the main release and that film has not collected that well. The drop from SIMMBA from Thursday is just 20% and this is a huge considering how that Thursday was in double digits. This is how the content films trend on second Friday and they are normally at a 60-70% lower level than SIMMBA.
Normally there is huge growth on a second Saturday but it might be a little less for SIMMBA as it is coming off of a holiday period. Still it will be a huge second weekend irrespective of how much it grows on Saturday.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Friday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 31,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 21,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 28,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 14,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 11,75,00,000 apprx
Week One- 1,50,50,00,000 apprx
Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,59,75,00,000
------------------------------
SIMMBA took its total to 173 crore nett after nine days as it picked up 13.25-13.50 crore nett apprx on its second Saturday. The growth was 50% from the previous day which is very good considering it was a holiday week in the first week.
The huge boost to the film is that Delhi/UP is holding very strong in the second week. Mumbai was doing excellent business from day one anyway but to put up a real big number which it will now it needed Delhi/UP to collect well. The collections in Mumbai are now 64 crore nett while Delhi/UP is 36 crore nett apprx.
The lifetime collections have a shot at 250 crore nett but it will depend on the holds in week three and week four.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Friday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 31,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 21,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 28,00,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 14,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 11,75,00,000 apprx
Week One- 1,50,50,00,000 apprx
Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 13,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,73,00,00,000
------------------------------
SIMMBA had an excellent second weekend of 40 crore nett as it added 17.50 crore nett on Sunday which was a solid 30% up from the day before. The film has collected 190 crore nett so far in ten days and will cross the 200 crore nett mark on Tuesday. It will be the 14th film to cross 200 crore nett in terms of raw NETT collections.
The film has seen only one day go under 10 crore nett in its ten day run so far but could see the first noticeable fall in its run so far on Monday or on a weekday. The second weekend is a little less that PADMAAVAT which had collected around 43.50 crore nett but the overall total is higher than PADMAAVAT as that film had 189 crore nett in ten days.
The film has chances to beat PADMAAVAT in CP Berar, Bihar, Assam and Odisha. It will beat in Mumbai also but that is because PADMAAVAT did not release in Gujarat.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Week One- 1,50,26,00,000
Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 13,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 17,50,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 40,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,90,26,00,000 apprx
SIMMBA will become the highest NETT grosser of Rohit Shetty by the end of week two by beating GOLMAAL AGAIN and CHENNAI EXPRESS but has a long way to go to beat the footfalls of CHENNAI EXPRESS.
------------------------------
SIMMBA collected very well on its second Monday with around 6 crore nett coming. Only seven films in 2018 managed to collect this much or more on the first Monday. This takes the film to 196 crore nett and it will become the 14th film to cross 200 crore nett today (Tuesday).
The film already has 46 crore nett in the second week and could finish the week with a total over 60 crore nett but that depends on the holds over the next three days. There are two Hindi films for competition this week and though neither look big openers they will take screens space from SIMMBA at multiplexes.
The fourteen day business will be better than PADMAAVAT but it will be less over two weeks as PADMAAVAT had an extended first week of eight days plus paid previews.
The collections of SIMMBA till date are as follows.
Week One- 1,50,26,00,000
Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 13,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 17,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 6,00,00,000 apprx
Second Week - 46,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,96,26,00,000 apprx
SIMMBA will become the highest NETT grosser of Rohit Shetty by the end of week two by beating GOLMAAL AGAIN and CHENNAI EXPRESS but has a long way to go to beat the footfalls of CHENNAI EXPRESS.
