Rohit Shetty to create more super-cop franchises
DNA (January 1, 2019)

Rohit Shetty, who has already built two successful franchises — in Golmaal and Singham —has ample ideas about his next lot of movies. Even as his recently released Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood is raking in the moolah, the ace filmmaker has suggested that it will have a sequel. If that’s not enough, a cameo by Akshay Kumar and his own admission of having begun talks with the 2.0 star, industry buzz is that the two are planning another cop saga called Sooryavanshi.

The Aankh Marey number featuring Tusshar, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade in Simmba seems to hint at the fifth Golmaal film. And, of course, Ajay Devgn’s special appearance indicating that his super-cop Singham’s third outing is also on the cards. Interestingly, all three of Rohit’s reel cops have one thing in common, their names begin with S — from Ajay’s Singham and Ranveer’s Simmba to Akshay’s Sooryavanshi.

We won’t be surprised if the blockbuster director comes up with a movie starring the three with the title starting with ‘S’.
