Salman Khan’s production house has acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Marathi film Mulshi Pattern, which released in November. It will now be made in Hindi with Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in the lead. The crime drama is expected to go on the floors by mid-2019.

A source reveals, “Earlier this week, Salman had a meeting with Aayush at his office to discuss the project. They have yet to finalise the director and the hunt is on for the leading lady. Unlike his debut film, Love Yatri, which was a love story, this one will see Aayush in a more serious avatar. He will start training in action soon.”

The Marathi version had featured Om Bhutkar in the lead and was inspired by true incidents which took place in Pune’s Mulshi taluka. It revolves around farmers who having lost their lands, turn to petty crimes stemming from frustration and poverty. Some of them eventually turn into ganglords. It had featured popular actors like Mahesh Manjrekar, Mohan Joshi and Upendra Limaye and was directed by Pravin Vitthal Tarde.

Aayush’s Love Yatri, also produced by Salman, had released in October with debutante Warina Hussain as his leading lady. Buzz is, the actor has also signed another film also featuring Sanjay Dutt which is expected to go on the floors by May next year. That film too is supposedly loosely inspired by the underworld.
