It’s wedding season in Bollywood and there’s one more party in the waiting. Bombay Times was the first tell you in June about actress Shweta Basu Prasad’s (of Makdee fame) engagement to her filmmaker beau Rohit Mittal. We’ve now learnt that the couple will tie the knot on December 13 in Pune, followed by a reception in Mumbai the following week.

The actress, who is currently in Bali for her bachelorette party, revealed that both Bengali (Shweta) and Marwadi (Rohit) wedding rituals will be followed on her big day. Shweta and her besties will be in Bali for about five days before flying back to Mumbai and then Pune. A friend revealed, “Shweta and Rohit have been in a relationship for four years and moved in together two years ago. They get along really well, are best of friends and it will be great to see them getting married soon.”

Interestingly, it was Shweta who popped the question. The friend added, “Gone are the days when women wait for men to make the first move. Though the feeling was mutual, it was Shweta who proposed to Rohit in Goa first. He then proposed to her in Pune (his hometown).”
