Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan recently started shooting for their next, the Jagan Shakti directorial Mission Mangal, which is a story of India’s Mars Mission. The actor who has been bringing a lot of biographical dramas to the screen, from Airlift and Pad Man to the more recent Gold, has described it as “a powerful true story of ordinary people with extraordinary dreams, on an unheard-of mission to achieve the impossible”. The film marks his reunion with Vidya after 11 years, when they had featured in Sajid Khan’s Heyy Babyy and Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa, besides several guest turns. Mirror photographer Raju Shelar caught the actors in their look during a shoot in Film City on Thursday.

The shoot began at 7 am, with the National Award-winning actress dressed in a brown saree with an I-card around her neck. Akshay, in a blue shirt and cream trousers, chatted with a unit member during lunch break. Co-producer R Balki was also on the set. Akshay’s Baby co-star Taapsee Pannu who plays Kritika Agarwal from Navigation and Communication Department joined the duo on Friday.
