In the wake of the #MeToo Movement, After Hrs recently asked Karisma Kapoor her views about women naming their alleged perpetrators. The actress says, “I am shocked after reading the stories that many women are sharing every day. I respect and support them. They have been through so much. It’s great that they are finally coming forward and expressing themselves.”
Lolo, as she’s popularly known as, also advocates the significance of a safer workplace for women. “Proven offenders should be punished for the crimes they have committed and efforts should be taken to make the workplace a better space,” she avers.
She also emphasises that it’s imperative for women, who have come out in the open, to have a good support system. “It’s important to talk to someone — whether a professional, a friend or a family member. Sharing your problems will ease things out,” she concludes.
