Late singer-composer Aadesh Shrivastava’s elder son Avitesh is
making his debut with a single titled “Main Hua Tera”. The 21-year-old
singer-composer also features in the video which is directed by Remo
D’souza.
Having studied at the Hollywood Academy in Los Angeles, Avitesh has performed with T-Pain and French Montana. Back home, he has served as an assistant director on Shoojit Sircar’s Piku and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon. He also worked on Amitabh Bachchan’s talk show Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi.
“Initially ‘Main Hua Tera’ was supposed to be an English song and while in the US, I worked on it with Justin Bieber’s producer Gemini. Back in India, I played it for Remo sir who suggested we make it in Hinglish. So, I reworked it with writer Kunal Verma and sent the scratch to Grammy Award-winning producer Giorgio Tuinfort,” informs the debutant, adding that the video was shot in a day with him facing the camera in the presence of his mother, actress Vijayta Pandit. “It was a proud moment for me, my father had been waiting for this day,” he adds.
Avitesh was trained as a singer by his father while his mother gave acting tips. “I got the best of both worlds,” he beams, admitting that he’s already got acting offers. “Remo sir has discussed a film with me. I’m pondering on the right break. Meanwhile, there’s this single but I don’t intend to give playback for other actors at the moment.”
