Times are changing in Bollywood. Today, producers, directors and actors are trying to break the industry norms and come up with diverse content. In 2016, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had Ranbir Kapoor romancing a much older Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The same year, Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Ki & Ka. Recently, Ash played Rajkummar Rao’s love interest in Fanney Khan.

Ask Kajol if she would be game for such a role and she smiles, “Of course, why not? But it depends on what the film would be about. I’ve no reservations, but the only thing that will make or break it for me is the script. If it’s great, then I’ll do it.”

Given a choice, whom would she pick from the younger generation as her co-star? Kajol says, “It has to be Varun (Dhawan). He’s a sweet guy and working with him is a lot of fun. I had a great time with him during Dilwale. So, if I have to romance someone, it would be him.” Filmmakers take note!
