Aditya Roy Kapur is back after a brief lull with two big films — Abhishek Varman’s Kalank, which also features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Sonakshi Sinha, and Sadak 2, in which he will play the lead opposite Alia. Now the actor, who started out as a VJ, is retracing his small screen roots.

Mirror has learnt that Aditya is set to host an adventure reality show that is expected to go on the floors by the year-end and will be shot across the country. “Aditya is into fitness and adventure sports and has a connect with the younger audience, which the show makers were looking for. The production house recently approached him with a show that has a new format and after several rounds of meetings, Aditya gave his nod,” informs a source close to the development, adding that he is expected to sign on the dotted line as soon as his schedule dates for Sadak 2 are clear.

The show will follow contestants as they travel to popular destinations in India and compete in various fitness-related tasks. Aditya had started out as a VJ before landing his Bollywood debut, London Dreams, in 2009.

The film was directed by Vipul Shah and featured Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Rannvijay Singha and Asin as leads. The 32-year-old actor was last seen in a brief appearance in the Sonkashi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Welcome to New York in February this year.
