One to consider her team her extended family, Sunny Leone had been sponsoring the treatment of her Man Friday, Prabhakar Yedle - who has been battling kidney failure - over the past year. Now, the actor has initiated crowdfunding to facilitate Yedle's kidney transplant that will cost Rs 20 lakh.

On Wednesday morning, Leone launched an initiative on a crowdfunding platform, urging fans to donate funds for Yedle's treatment. The actor's spokesperson said that her investment in the cause is only natural, since he has been by her side ever since she set foot in Bollywood. It was only last year that his condition came to light.

"That's when Sunny and Daniel [Weber, husband] consulted a kidney specialist. The doctor said that he would need a transplant since only 20 per cent of his kidney was functioning. While the couple, along with other team members, have been footing the bill so far, the transplant requires around Rs 20 lakh."

Leading from the front, Leone says this is the least she can do for Yedle. "Prabhakar is the glue that holds our team together. He is shy and small, but has the biggest heart, and deserves to be healthy and happy once more. Despite his suffering, he has never complained even once. At this stage, even the smallest of contributions will be helpful." At the time of going to press, the site had seen donation of Rs 69,000.
