South director Elan, whose Tamil film Pyaar Prema Kaadhal released earlier this month and set the cash registers ringing, is now Bollywood-bound. He has teamed up with Sarbjit and Bhoomi producer Sandeep Singh for two projects.
“Elan and I are coming together to form a company in Chennai. We are remaking his Tamil hit, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, in Hindi and making another film, which will be a Tamil-Hindi romcom-fantasy. The Tamil title for the film is Punnagai Arasan (King of Smiles),” Sandeep told Mirror.
According to the filmmaker, the bilingial is set to go on the floors in December with a 60-day shoot in Himachal Pradesh and Leh-Ladakh. “Our crew will be drawn from both the Tamil and Hindi film industries. The male lead will be drawn from Tamil cinema and will be paired with a Bollywood actress. It will have six romantic songs for which we have Yuvan Shankar Raja (Ilaiyaraaja’s son) on board,” Sandeep added. The remake of Harish Kalyan and Raiza Wilson’s love story is scheduled to go on the floors next year.
Elan added that Sandeep had really liked Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, which is when he pitched the other idea to him too. “I am 27 and since Sandeep is young too, we get along well, and the collaboration happened. Both films will roll one after the other,” he concluded.
