On Tuesday, After Hrs had reported that Ranbir Kapoor has been offered the protagonist’s role in Mogul. Bhushan Kumar and Aamir Khan, who are co-producing the biopic on the late music baron Gulshan Kumar, are extremely keen to have him on board. Though Aamir has tried to convince the Kapoor scion to be a part of the project, the latter is yet to take a decision. Meanwhile, we hear that Sushant Singh Rajput has also been approached for the project. The two producers recently announced that they plan to begin the movie early next year and release it around Christmas 2019.

Ranbir, who is currently working on Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, has Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera and Luv Ranjan’s film lined up next. Sushant, who has starred in the biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, is presently filming the Hindi remake of The Fault In Our Stars. He will also be a part of a web series, which will see him essay 12 real-life characters, including those of political strategist Chanakya, poet Rabindranath Tagore and former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam. According to sources, he is said to have the dates required for Mogul. If he does take up the project, this will be another opportunity for him to play a renowned personality.
