Athiya Shetty is three years older to brother Ahan Shetty. While she has starred in two films, her bhai will soon be launched by Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner. And though they have distinct personalities, they always have each other’s back. They don’t celebrate Raksha Bandhan the way it usually is. Athiya reveals, “We tie each other rakhi. He’s the most important person in my life, and I am extremely protective about him. I’ll always be by his side.” The tradition was started by her parents Suniel Shetty and mom Mana Shetty.

The Mubarakan actress also tells us that the two are “poles apart”. “But that’s the best part of our relationship,” she avers adding, “He gives me perspective, and teaches me the importance of being calm and secure in every phase of life. He’s extremely mature and even though he’s younger, I look up to him.”

Their  equation has changed over the years. “When we were younger, we used to fight a lot and even beat each other up. We would actually play WWE and took it a little too seriously. But now we argue, and it’s forgotten within the next hour,” Athiya laughs. She also adds that Raksha Bandhan has “never been about the gift”. She says, “It’s more about spending time together and the emotion behind the day. We celebrate it at my mamu’s house with all my cousins, and since I am the only sister, I’m spoilt by everyone.”
