SOORMA grossed a low 3.25 crore nett apprx on its first day though North India did well with roughly 50% of its all India business coming from Delhi/UP and East Punjab. The film is about the growth which should come on Saturday but the Monday will be crucial as weekend growth nowadays comes for practically every film aimed at multiplexes. Monday is what separates the also rans and the ones which will actually ran.

Mumbai circuit is most important for the film as that is the one which will decide its fate because it really needs Mumbai city and Pune to pick up strongly. If  Mumbai city, Pune and North can score for a multiplex film like this then it is enough for a good box office run. If Mumbai does not really sustain then the film will have to be a big hit in the North for a decent lifetime total.

The opening day collections of the film were a little lower than HICHKI and 102 NOT OUT though better than BLACKMAIL.

ANT MAN AND THE WASP has scored at the box office with a pretty good first day of 5.25-5.50 crore nett which is similar to the collections of BLACK PANTHER which had more hype though the release in India of ANT MAN AND THE WASP was a little wider than BLACK PANTHER.

The Hollywood released had the highest collections on the Friday beating SOORMA and SANJU. There is big growth for this Marvel branded cinema in India as the last ANT MAN released in 2015 grossed 8 crore nett and this one will beat that one in 2 days flat.

It still remains to be seen if the film actually works with the audience but with a start like this it is pretty much assured success from a purely commercial point of view.

SOORMA had good growth on Saturday of around 45-50% but it could have been better as it is a multiplex film. The places which did not open well on Friday managed to make good gains while places like Punjab and Delhi which opened much better made lesser gains.

The film grossed 4.75 crore nett apprx to take its total to 8 crore nett in two days. The film should do pretty well in Delhi and Punjab but the rest still depending on what level they are on Monday as if low occupancy then second week will be a struggle for shows.

ANT MAN AND THE WASP has done well at the box office in India as it collected 7 crore nett on Saturday. The growth is around 30-35% which probably means its not going to be a long runner but with the weekend easily crossing 20 crore nett it is sure to be an Average fare at least.
