Boney Kapoor’s next project, which will see him working with Ajay Devgn after 16 years, now has a director on board. It will be helmed by Amit Sharma, who made his Bollywood debut with the Arjun Kapoor-starrer Tevar (2015) that was also produced by Boney. The new project, which apparently is a sports biopic, is likely to go on floors next year as the superstar is busy shooting for his other films. Besides Total Dhamaal and Luv Ranjan’s production, the actor also has his most ambitious historical — Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior — in the pipeline before he begins another movie.

Amit, who is an ad filmmaker, was first noticed for Google’s Reunion commercial, which was about two friends, who were separated by the Partition, uniting decades later with the help of technology.

Currently, he is directing Badhaai Ho, a comedy, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra. Says a source, “Though Tevar failed to make a splash at the box office, Boney seemed impressed with him. This will be Amit’s first film with a superstar.”
