Race 3 Box Office Collection Day 1: Salman Khan's Film Is The 'Biggest Opener' Of 2018 With Almost 30 Crores
Box Office India Trade Network

RACE 3 had a very good first day despite it being pre Eid as it collected 27.50 crore nett apprx. The film also did not have a proper advance which could have pushed the collections by a crore or two higher. But its still a very good number as a large chunk of the Muslim audience must have kept away from the theatres.

The fair value opening of the film is similar to TIGER ZINDA HAI in the range of 33-34 crore nett as that is what it would have picked up if it was a normal and no pre Eid affect on the film.

East Punjab, a circuit with a very limited affect of Pre Eid, grossed 2.96 crore nett while TIGER ZINDA HAI was 3.10 crore nett. The collections in Delhi city were also very similar to TIGER ZINDA HAI though UP was lower. Generally business has been hit in practically all the circuits barring Punjab and Delhi where the former may have been affected by 3-5% and the latter around 8-10%. A circuit like Nizam/Andhra is 35% down than TIGER ZINDA HAI.

The downside to the numbers are that they have not really pushed on from KICK or BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN as those films were also released pre Eid and the numbers are only a little ahead and if we consider GROSS numbers then they will be less than BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN. The comparison (NETT and GROSS) between the three films is as follows.
Kick - 24,97,00,000 (GROSS - 33.33 crore)
Bajrangi Bhaijaan  - 26.67,00,000 (GROSS - 35.68 crore)
Race 3 - 27,50,00,000 apprx (GROSS - (35 crore apprx)

The film will have its two best days on Saturday and Sunday with Saturday being the second best day of the year for collections after the big Diwali holiday. There will be a lift in collections on Saturday and it really has to competing with the biggest days of all time.
