Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding (VDW) is a bonafide hit. The Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania-starrer has collected over Rs 75 cr (domestic box office). Now, the makers are discussing the idea of making it a franchise.

While Shashanka Ghosh directed the first part, we hear that VDW 2 will have a complete female crew helming it. Says a source, “Ekta wants Alankrita Shrivastava (director of Lipstick Under My Burkha) to direct VDW 2. Nothing has been finalised yet, but that’s the idea they are toying with.”
