The bail plea of actor Armaan Kohli, who has been accused of beating up his girlfriend Neeru Randhawa, was rejected by the Metropolitan Magistrate on Wednesday. He has been sent to judicial custody till June 26. Meanwhile, Armaan and Neeru have mutually filed an application in the Bombay High Court, requesting for an out-of-court settlement.
On June 5, BT had first reported about Armaan, who is infamous for his mercurial temperament, assaulting Neeru, in his Mumbai home. After being hospitalised, Neeru, a fashion stylist, had lodged a complaint against the actor at the Santacruz police station.
Armaan, who had been evading arrest since then, was finally held on Tuesday in Lonavala. He has been booked under Section 326. On Wednesday, the actor arrived at the Bandra court, accompanied by his father Rajkumar Kohli and a friend. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX), Paramjit Singh Dahiya, told us, “He was traced to Lonavala and was produced before the court.”
After the news of Armaan’s bail plea rejection surfaced, Neeru told BT, “I might consider withdrawing the case. He has already given a formal apology letter. However, he has to assure me that he will not interfere in my life and cause any damage to me in the future. I am also taking into consideration his dad’s health. But most importantly, I want to put this episode behind me and move on.”
