Video Posted By Virat Kohli Goes Viral

Cricketer Virat Kohli on Saturday tweeted a video clip of his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, admonishing a man in the backseat of a chauffeur-driven vehicle for littering.

The man, Arhaan Singh, who is a managing director of an event management firm, later stated on Facebook that Anushka should have watched her tone. More than 6,600 netizens reacted to his post.

Virat’s 17-second clip was shot while he and his wife were in their vehicle. Anushka gestured at the chauffeur of a passing car. She asked the man in the backseat, “Why are you throwing plastic on the road? Please be careful. You just can’t be throwing plastic like that on the streets. Use a dustbin.” Virat tweeted, “Saw these people throwing garbage on the road & pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same & spread awareness.”

Singh stated he had no desire to gain mileage. “So I happened to carelessly litter a square mm of plastic while driving. A car passing by rolls down its window and there we have our wonderful Anushka Sharma ranting and yelling like a crazy roadside person. While I’m apologetic about my carelessness, Anushka, a little etiquette and politeness wouldn’t have made you a lesser star. There are all kinds of manners and hygiene and verbal etiquette is one of them. The garbage that mistakenly went out of the window of my luxury car was way less than the garbage that came out of your mouth.. Or the trashy mind of Virat Kohli to shoot and post this online for whatever gains. Now that’s some serious trash (sic),” read his FB post. Many criticised Singh, but some said Virat and Anushka should have corrected him privately.

A day after Virat Kohli took to his Instagram account to applaud actor-wife Anushka Sharma for pulling up the passenger of a luxury car for littering, the latter took to social media to lash out at the power couple.

Claiming that Sharma was “ranting and yelling like a crazy roadside person” after he “carelessly” littered a “sq mm of plastic while driving”, the passenger, Arhhan Singh, took to his social media handles to hit back at the duo. “While I’m apologetic for my carelessness, Mrs Anushka Sharma Kohli a little etiquette and politeness in ur dialogue wouldn’t have made u a lesser star!! The garbage that mistakenly went out of the window of my 'luxury car'... Was way less then the garbage that came out from your mouth...( sic),” Singh wrote, further lashing out at Kohli for sharing the video online. Soon after his post, Singh’s mother too took to her Instagram to ridicule the couple, claiming they had violated her son’s privacy and exposed him to hostility.

Kohli had, in his post, pointed out to Singh’s action and written, “Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss.” The video sees Sharma hold up Singh’s car as she calls out to him from her vehicle to question his act.

Netizens found themselves divided following Singh’s post. While some stated that Sharma could have been more mindful of her tone while addressing him, even choosing to blur his face before sharing the video on social media, others highlighted how Singh was in the wrong to litter in the first place.
