Four years after Salman Khan turned producer with Jean-Francoise Pouliot’s international drama, Dr Cabbie, the 52-year old- actor is all set to turn distributor with the third instalment of the Race franchise, directed by Remo D’Souza and featuring Salman as Sikander, along with Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. Last month, Salman, who has produced two Kabir Khan directorials, Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Tubelight (2017), and Nikkhil Advani’s Hero (2015), felt it was the right time to take the next step.
“While all his home productions credit his mother, Salma Khan, as the producer, his father, Salim Khan, will now be credited as the distributor in his upcoming film Race 3. Salman will be continuing this practice in the future too with Salim Khan looking into the distribution personally,” the film’s spokesperson told Mirror, adding that two leading distributors were pitching hard for the all-India and overseas rights, till Salman jumped into the fray and locked the deal after the film’s action-packed trailer became the talk of the town.
This year, Salman is also producing Loveratri, which introduces brother-in-law Ayush Sharma and Warina Hussain.
