Twelve years after they collaborated on the comic caper, Bhagam Bhag,
National Award-winning filmmaker Priyadarshan is reuniting with Suniel
Shetty for a sequel to the 2006 film. While Suniel had produced the
original, he had not acted in the film. But according to a source close
to the development, the 56-year-old actor is now gearing up to feature
in the sequel which is being mounted on a grand scale and rolls this
year with Priyadarshan wielding the microphone.
The original had followed Champak Chaturvedi played by Paresh Rawal as
the director of a theatre group who is offered a chance to perform a
show in London. Govinda and Akshay Kumar had featured as two actors at
loggerheads always fighting to bag the role of the hero. Even though
Suniel was the original choice for Govinda’s role, he decided to stay
behind-the-scenes.In the last six months, Priyadarshan and Suniel have had several meetings at the latter’s Mumbai office. They will kick off another comedy-drama this year.
