Iulia Vantur joins the Veere Di Wedding gang; sings the title track

Salman’s ‘good friend’ among seven voices that feature in a song in Kareena, Sonam’s next

The title track of Rhea Kapoor’s upcoming romcom, Veere Di Wedding, featuring sister Sonam, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania will have the actresses grooving in scenic Bangkok. What’s interesting is that as many as seven singers come together to croon this party number, one of them being Salman Khan’s ‘good friend’ Iulia Vantur. Among the other singers are Aditi Singh Sharma, Nikita Ahuja, Shravi Yadav and Payal Dev. The male vocals are by composer-singer Vishal Mishra who is the lead singer.
A source from the film reveals that the song was recorded recently at a Mumbai studio. “The team wanted six female playback singers to join Vishal to give the feel of a girl gang having a fun time at a party. Iulia was chosen for her unique voice as the composer was experimenting with a genre called ‘Chill house music’. Around 400 female voices were auditioned, of which 50 were shortlisted and the final six selected.”
The track has been written by Anvita Dutt Guptan for the Shashanka Ghosh directorial.
Iulia recently recorded a song written by Salman for his upcoming action thriller, the third instalment of the Race franchise. She recorded her portions in Mumbai while her Pakistani co-singer Atif Aslam recorded in Dubai.
Meanwhile, the Race team left for Jodhpur on Friday for the film’s next schedule.
