The leading lady of the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series and the more recent Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Nushrat Bharucha, turned 29 with a star-studded Bollywood bash on Thursday at a Bandra nightclub. “I hosted the party, organised the guest list, even got my own cake and pulled everyone on the dance floor. It was a full-on Bollywood night, just the way I love it,” the birthday girl told Mirror, adding that her best friend, Rohini Bhandari, was by her side all night, helping her plan the perfect evening.
The party went on till 4 am, with filmmaker friends Luv Ranjan, Abhishek Pathak and Bhushan Kumar accompanied by wife Divya Khosla and choreographer Bosco Martis among the guests. Also present were Nushrat’s co-stars Sunny Singh, Ishita Sharma and Fukrey actor Varun Sharma. Aussie cricketer Brett Lee and batsman KL Rahul whose on-field exploits have been the talk of the year, were the star attractions on the dance floor, doing a thumka or two between selfies.
“The surprise guest was Ranbir Kapoor who will feature in Luv’s next drama, alongside Ajay Devgn, and shares a warm camaraderie with Nushrat,” informed a guest, adding that the actor arrived and exited secretly from the back entrance to avoid the paparazzi. “His visit was short, but he made sure to spend some time with the birthday girl and greet all her guests.”
Conspicuous by his absence was Nushrat’s co-star from several Luv films, Kartik Aaryan, who had spent the evening with Ranbir at an event. The actor missed the bash as he had to take off to Ahmedabad for a prior commitment.
“It was mandatory to dance at my party and despite the constant flow of finger food and drinks, the dance floor remained crowded as the music switched from English to Hindi and Punjabi. It was super-fun!” Nushrat exulted. She was seen shaking a leg to the chartbusters from her February release, “Bom Diggy Diggy”, “Dil Chori” and “Lakk Mera Hit”, among other Bollywood hits.
When prodded about her presents, she admitted that she’s been too busy to unwrap them. “But last year I gifted myself hot wheels on my birthday and this year I presented my mom with a luxury drive,” she revealed. Way to go!
