102 NOT OUT had a low opening day of 3.25-3.50 crore nett apprx which is in the same range as HICHKI (3.31 crore nett) though the costs are higher for 102 NOT OUT compared to HICHKI. The costs of 102 NOT OUT are in the same range as OCTOBER and that film grossed 4.25 crore nett apprx on day one

The opening is on the expected lines as it never had much going for it to get the audience into the theaters initially. Now its about whether the content is good enough to have a run at the box office.

The Saturday numbers will go up as its aimed at those good multiplexes where occupancy is best on Saturday but will the families come on Sunday as it is their support that the film will need as it does not have appeal for the youth or mass audience.

The film has AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR for competition which is still doing excellent business especially in the metros which is the target audience of 102 NOT OUT. The business of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is higher across all metros despite it being on day eight.

Outside the metros it is not even a competition as AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is doing treble business of 102 NOT OUT. This has affected the opening day collections of 102 NOT OUT as the audience has the choice of another film which is far bigger.

The other release to open yesterday OMERTA is a very poor fare with collections of 50 lakhs nett  range. The trailer spelt trouble and that is what has happened and with such low collections even mega growth will not really help much unless its like treble of day one.

102 NOT OUT showed good growth of around 50% on Saturday but it remains to be seen if it is good enough. HICHKI was 60% up from similar levels on Saturday but was a lower costing film. A similar costing film OCTOBER was 55% up on Saturday and at higher levels than 102 NOT OUT and even despite this growth OCTOBER had so so holds post the weekend. OCTOBER was 30% higher on Saturday and even HICHKI was a little higher on Saturday

There is limited appreciation for 102 NOT OUT with the youth audience while mass is not even interested so its dependent on the family audience and that too in the five metros. This audience is still enough to pull the film through and the next few days will tell if this target audience has liked the film or not.

OMERTA is a very poor fare with collections of 1.25 crore nett in two days. The film showed growth of 50% on Saturday but it needed growth of 300%. There was not much hope for the film after Friday and now Saturday means there is NO hope for the film. The first two day business of OMERTA is as follows
