Mirror had earlier reported (March 29) that Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has been brought on board to sing a romantic number written by leading man Salman Khan for the third instalment of the Race franchise. Now, we have learnt that the actor’s ‘good friend’, Romanian actress-singer Iulia Vantur is singing the duet with Atif. The song was picturised on Salman in Abu Dhabi recently with director Remo D’souza as choreographer.

A source close to the development reveals that Atif’s portion was recorded in Dubai while Iulia’s recorded her part in a Mumbai studio. “It was on Salman’s suggestion that she was brought on board. The team was looking for a female voice who fit the bill and he thought Iulia was perfect for the vocals,” adds the source.

Salman had written the love song a while ago and when he shared it with the Race team that was looking for a song, they loved it so he gifted it to them. It was set to music by Vishal Mishra who has composed another romantic track for the same film with another of the actor’s favourite singers, Kamal Khan. Kamal will also be crooning a new version of his popular hit, “Oh Oh Jaane Jaana” for the Sooraj Pancholi and Isabelle Kaif-starrer, Time to Dance, being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Remo.

On Wednesday, the Race 3 team returned to Mumbai after wrapping up the Abu Dhabi schedule and will now be filming the last leg in the city. They had earlier shot a long schedule in Bangkok in February.

Besides Salman and leading lady Jacqueline Fernandez, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala. Salman’s Dabbang co-star, Sonakshi Sinha, makes a guest appearance in a song that was shot in Abu Dhabi for the Ramesh Taurani production.
