Chunky Panday on sending off his daughter to ‘high school’

Nineteen-year-old Ananya Panday has kicked off her Bollywood debut, Student Of The Year 2 with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, and dad Chunky couldn’t be prouder. “I speak to Ananya every now and then. Bhavna (wife) had gone there for a couple of days to get her settled in. She is in high school (in the film) now so parents are not allowed but I’m sure she’s enjoying herself. I’d love to see her in action. Maybe I will sneak in when the team is shooting in Mumbai,” Chunky told Mirror.
The 55-year-old actor admits that he misses his daughter. “I got
emotional when she left but then I told myself that she’s going away to
college and will be away for a couple of months. That’s how I’m looking
at it,” he explains. He was recently quoted as saying that Ananya, a
brilliant student, had enrolled in the University of California, Los
Angeles and New York University, but since the movie was in the
pipeline, they decided to delay her admission by a year. With the youngster sharing screen time with another debutante, Tara, were there any apprehensions? “There were two girls in the story right from the outset and I’m sure they will complement each other. All three (Tiger, Ananya, Tara) look cute together,” Chunky says, adding that he and Bhavna are in “parental bliss” now. “Incidentally, my younger daughter Rysa is in Jordan to represent her school at an athletics competition,” he adds. Meanwhile, Chunky has finished his first Marathi film, Bangarwala, the Prabhas-starrer Saaho is almost complete and Housefull 4 starts in August.
