Eighteen years after the Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Sanjay Dutt-starrer Mission Kashmir, Vidhu Vinod Chopra returned to his hometown Srinagar earlier this month, to shoot his next directorial, reportedly titled Love And Letters. Last Friday, the filmmaker, whose new film is based on Kashmiri Pandits, visited the J&K headquarters and spent time with the Director General of Police, Dr S P Vaid and several senior officers.

The film chronicles the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the wake of rising militancy in the state. The entire film will be shot in the Valley. The second schedule will roll in May.

DGP Vaid reportedly requested Chopra to help in projecting the state police force in a positive light in his film. The filmmaker who spent his early years in Srinagar, where he went to school and college, also had had several meetings with the Union Minister Jitendra Singh, J&K Governor N N Vohra, among other officials.
