Months after he was seen as the deadly terrorist Haroon Sherchand opposite Anil Kapoor’s copturn as Jai Singh Rathod based on the Hollywood TV character Jack Bauer, in the Indian adaptation of 24, Sikandar Kher will be seen as the villain in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s drama, Milan Talkies. The film is presently on floors in Lucknow, with leading hero Ali Fazal, and Sikander is expected to join the unit in Mathura in the next 10 days. The film, which is based on single screens and the pathetic situation the talkies have been in for the last decade, also features Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Mishra and Yashpal Sharma.
“I have wanted to work with Tishu sir for years and when he asked me if I would play the baddie in his next, I immediately jumped at the offer. It is a brilliant script and I am excited about playing a wicked role,” Sikandar, whose favourite Bollywood baddies include Mr India’s Mogambo, played by the late Amrish Puri and Dr Dang, played by his father Anupam Kher in Subhash Ghai’s Karma.
