Sanjay Dutt, who is busy filming the third instalment of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster alongside Chitrangda Singh, Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill, has signed a new project. Mirror has learnt that the 58-year-old actor will next be seen in a musical-comedy titled Blockbuster, which will be directed by Ajay and Lovel Arora and will go on the floors in April. Writer-filmmaker duo Sajid-Farhad, who has previously penned hit ensemble comedies like Dhamaal, Golmaal Returns and Housefull 2, will be writing this one too.

A source close to the development told Mirror, “The film marks Sanjay’s return to the comedy genre. The team had conducted an extensive recee in Goa and Mauritius for the multi-starrer being produced by Sandeep Singh who had earlier collaborated with the actor on Bhoomi. A big studio is expected to come onboard as co-producers shortly.” Sanjay confirmed the news.

Meanwhile, Singh revealed that shooting will kick off in April in Mauritius, where a large part of the film’s story is set. “The musical-comedy will have five songs and we are currently in the process of finalising the ensemble cast,” he added.

Dutt will also be seen in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Panipat, alongside Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and Girish Mallik’s actionthriller Torbaaz, in which he plays an army officer who teaches young Afghan suicide bombers cricket.
