If this had been the cast of a movie, it would’ve been the casting coup of the decade. Nevertheless, plans are afoot to rope in some of the biggest actors of B-Town for a world tour. Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Jacqueline Fernandez have been approached for it. With numerous chartbusters in their kitty, they sure can rock the stage. Their presence on one platform is enough to send their fans across the globe in a tizzy.
A BIG DHAMAKA
Though Deepika and Anushka have shared screen space with RK and Ranveer, the two ladies haven’t worked together on a project yet, and the same holds true for the men, too. Currently, details of the tour are being charted out. “While the dates haven’t been decided yet, it’s definitely taking shape on paper. The organisers are hoping to schedule it around September-October this year. Considering these stars are among the biggest and busiest names in Bollywood at the moment, it will take some time to work out their dates,” says a source.
IT’S HAPPENED BEFORE
Though it might seem a bit surprising that such big actors are collaborating on one show, this isn’t a new phenomenon. The source adds, “Back in the day, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have been on world tours together. There have been many such stage shows that have seen superstars collaborate. When there was no social media, this was the only way fans in other countries could see their favourite actors in person.”
WHEN ACTORS UNITE...
The norm of actors uniting for such tours made a comeback in a big way last year when Karan Johar led Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra, and Aditya Roy Kapur, along with rapper Badshah for a series of shows across the US. Salman, too, had Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Prabhudheva, Daisy Shah, Maniesh Paul, and Guru Randhawa accompanying him on the Da-Bangg tour. The source states, “The response to these shows has proved the far-reaching popularity of Bollywood actors. This has encouraged the organisers to plan more such events.”
