Arjun Kapoor, who resumed shooting for Namaste England last week in Amritsar with Parineeti Chopra, was recently joined by another co-star, Satish Kaushik, a long-time friend and collaborator of his father, Boney Kapoor, and uncle, Anil.
While this is their first film together, Satish has seen Arjun grow up from a child to a responsible man, and was particularly moved by his poise during Sridevi’s funeral. “At times, tragedies teach you a lot and bring families together. Janhvi (Sridevi and Boney’s daughter) is suddenly all grown up now and Arjun is very protective of the family. It will take a long time for people to get over Sridevi ma’am’s absence but it’s amazing to see the kids return to work,” he applauds.
Kaushik reveals he was surprised when Arjun became an actor as he had always thought the youngster would get behind the camera. “I have known Arjun since the day he was born, he’d visit the Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja set as a kid. He was an assistant on the Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor film Milenge Milenge that I had directed. Now, he is a successful actor and I’m shooting with him for the first time. He is very good at his job,” he beams proudly, adding that he remains steadfast in his belief that Arjun will eventually turn director. “It is evident from the way he reacts to films and discusses stories.”
