Over a month after Radhika Apte confirmed to Mirror (January 4) that she is on-board a film also featuring Dev Patel, we have learnt that the actress and her newest co-star have quietly kicked off the first schedule of Hollywood filmmaker David Winterbottom’s next in Rajasthan. The film’s team is currently in Jaipur and will move on to several other parts of the state.
A source close to the development told Mirror, “They started shooting last weekend and are expected to be there for the next few days. Dev arrived in India two weeks ahead to the schedule to meet the film’s team, get familiar with the locations and prep for his part. Both actors are bound by a tight contract that doesn’t allow them to speak about the film and details pertaining to the project are strictly under wraps till an official announcement is made.” The film has reportedly been titled The Wedding Guest but the source added that it’s only tentative at this point.
In November 2016, Dev had wrapped up his other international project, Hotel Mumbai, which is directed by Anthony Maras. The actor has recently also signed up to play the titular role in Armando Iannucci’s The Personal History of David Copperfield, a retelling of the Charles Dickens novel. Meanwhile, Radhika has completed Sriram Raghavan’s Shoot the Piano Player and Anurag Kashyap’s film in the anthology, Love and Lust. She’s also part of Nikkhil Advani’s Gauravv Chawla directed Saif Ali Khan, Chitrangda Singh and Rohan Mehra-starrer Baazaar, and has also finished work on a horror story with Phantom films.
