Tiger Shroff, who has been a trained martial artist since before he made his acting debut with Sabbir Khan’s Heropanti in 2014, recently facilitated an advanced training trip to Thailand for his team of fighters in the Super Fight League before they hit the ring next. “Tiger understands these professional fighters’ passion for the sport and takes a keen interest in their training. He had put together an extensive plan for the trip. The 12-people team comprises fighters like Parminder Singh, Sreedev, Rajit Chandra and Vikas Singh Ruhil, among others, who took classes in American kickboxing during their month-long stay. The group returned to India recently. Tiger treats all his gymnastics, dance and martial arts teams like family,” informs a source close to the development.
Confirming the news, SFL founder Bill Dosanjh adds, “Tiger is a skilled martial artist in his own right and he likes to see the same passion in his team. Honestly, no other team owner has gone the extra mile for their team. It was an intense training program as Thailand has traditionally produced some of the world’s champions in kickboxing. Tiger really wanted his team to win last year and is leaving no room for error this year. The team captain, Dhruv Chaudhary, has been really close to him and his family since a while now.”
Mirror had earlier reported that Tiger also has plans to set up a mixed martial arts training studio in Mumbai. “Ever since I started out with my first film, a number of youngsters and their families have been reaching out to me with queries about where I learnt martial arts and dance. It’s great to see kids showing an interest in outdoor activities after watching me instead of staying home. Kids are the future of our country and I want to make a small difference if I can with this school where all their queries will be answered,” Tiger had earlier said to Mirror (May 6).
On the work front, the 27-year-old actor has received a tremendous response for his physical renaissance that is marked by a transformation into a rugged macho avatar with a military-cut for Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming action film, Baaghi 2, which is directed by Ahmed Khan and also features Disha Patani. Tiger recently returned from the Bangkok schedule of the sequel to his 2016 martial arts film by the same name.
