After gifting herself a three-and-half BHK apartment in Andheri, Taapsee Pannu has treated herself to a “second home” in the form of a swanky, custom-made vanity van to celebrate a spate of recent celluloid successes. “The person who provided me with a van for one of my previous films offered to customise one for me. I have realised the importance of a van in an actor’s life. Filming can be draining and sometimes you really need your own space. I gave the guy pictures of the wallpapers I wanted and selected the colours, furniture, bed-sheets, mirror frames, everything by myself. I wanted it to have an European vintage vibe with lots of flowers which would make me happy just by looking at it,” informs the 30-year-old actress.

It’s a huge step-up for the actress, as she reminisces about her early days in the industry. “Initially, I was just given a room. When I first stepped into a van, I was like, ‘This is how a house on wheels looks like’”, Taapsee says, adding that her favourite quote, ‘Do what you love and love what you do,’ has found its place of pride in the vanity while it was meant to go in her new house. “I wanted to place it in a spot where I would be working a lot and the van seemed like the most logical option. There is a living room set-up in it for all my narrations and meetings and a small pantry area equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and a coffee machine.”

Her new apartment is also getting ready at the moment with her sister Shagun overlooking the interiors. “I didn’t know that Diwali is early this year or I would have celebrated it there, but I will certainly be moving in before Christmas. My favourite corner in the house has to be the room that I am getting converted into a walk-in closet,” Taapsee informs.

The actress also became a proud owner of a luxury car and welcomed “the new member of the family” online. Taapsee admits that the last one year has been particularly exciting for her. “So much has changed; it feels like I am in a different era now,”she asserts

Besides newer acquisitions, Taapsee feels that she has finally arrived because filmmakers are now coming up to her with interesting roles. “I am happy that they believe today that I can portray a Shabana, a Minal and a Samaira. If that means you have arrived, probably I have, then,” she signs off.
