Earlier this week, Saif Ali Khan hosted a private get-together at his Bandra residence for his director-friends. Present at the brain-storming bash were Airlift-director Raja Krishna Menon, Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma, TV show P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke’s writer-director Gauravv Chawla, NH10 director Navdeep Singh and Udaan filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, along with Saif’s Bazaar co-star Rohan Mehra. Saif’s begum, Kareena Kapoor, and little nawab, Taimur, were in Delhi for the shoot of Shashanka Ghosh’s film, Veere Di Wedding, but the actor played the perfect host, arranging a lavish spread of kebabs and other finger food and the choicest of drinks for his band of boys.
“Conversation revolved around the changing face of Hindi cinema, the future of digital media and the need for unique content. Saif, who has his own production house, is looking to collaborate on projects across mediums and found the discussion very stimulating,” informed a guest present at the dinner. The guests departed late after midnight promising the host that they would sit together again for more such creative sessions soon.
And Mirror has learnt that this was not the first of such meetings. “Saif wants to understand and explore diverse genres and has been quietly building a bank of content, meeting with other filmmakers and writers as well,” the guest added.
