Rani Mukerji and Sonu Sood get BMC notices for illegal alterations

Actors Rani Mukerji and
Sonu Sood were recently served BMC demolition and stop-work notices for
illegal alterations to their premises. Ten days ago, the BMC issued a
stop-work notice to the Mukerji family for alterations being made in
their bungalow in Juhu without the civic authority's approval. Mukerji's spokesperson said they have stopped the work after receiving
the notice and submitted
their reply to BMC ward office.
On August 30, the BMC issued a notice to the occupant and owner of Krishnram Bungalow, B-02, at Juhu, belonging to Mukerji. The notice stated that they done addition work beyond the approved plan without taking further permission. It asked them to stop the work and take the required permission or the BMC will demolish the changes.
Similarly, they had issued a notice to Sonu Sood to demolish an illegal alteration to his restaurant in Versova. An acquaintance manages the establishment. They had approached a local court and have got a stay order against the BMC's propo sed action. Sood said, “I have given the property on rent. We respect the BMC and follow all the rules. I asked them (those running the restaurant) to explain everything to the BMC.“
Earlier, the civic body had issued a demolition notice to actor Arshad Warsi for illegal alterations to his Versova bungalow. On June 19, BMC razed a part of the bungalow for allegedly constructing an extra floor illegally. Warsi approached BMC to regularize his alteration and his request in pending.
