After Bollywood, Hollywood too is waking up to the force that is Priyanka Chopra. The actor, who has established herself on international shores with the popular show Quantico, will be honoured at Variety’s Annual Power Of Women luncheon that will be held on October 13. The event recognises Hollywood’s most philanthropic women, who have made a difference to their chosen causes. Chopra is joined on the esteemed list by distinguished personalities like Patty Jenkins, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kelly Clarkson and Octavia Spencer.

As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Chopra has championed the cause of rights of refugees and displaced people. Her endeavour recently took her to Jordan where she interacted with Syrian children, whose lives have been affected by the conflict. She has also worked towards creating awareness about child victims of sexual abuse.

Beaming with pride at her daughter’s achievement, Madhu Chopra told mid-day, “This is a huge achievement for Priyanka. As a mother, I think her greatest quality is that she is grounded and never forgets her roots. She accepts these laurels and moves ahead to make India proud.”
