Not many are privy to the avid biker side of actor Sidharth Malhotra, who owns a Harley Davidson Fat Bob, and admits that he prefers to ride his prized possession on the quiet streets of Mumbai late at night as it makes it easier for him to skip traffic snarls and selfie-seeking fans. “Cruising late at night is destressing, bikes are so cool,” Sidharth beams.
Speaking about the training he underwent for his hi-octane bike stunts in his upcoming film, A Gentleman, in which he plays a double role, Sidharth says, “I worked with the stunt team in Bangkok. We had to ride in traffic at high speed and maneuver our way through a lot of markets. It required a lot of practice to get used to the bike,” he admits, adding that despite following all the safety guidelines, he ended up with a few injuries. “Once, we were shooting a chase sequence in a market and had to take the bike through some really crowded spaces. At one point, when I had to suddenly pull the brakes, I skidded, twisting my ankle badly but had to resume shooting after a brief break. We shot for the next three days and the injury took a long time to heal.”
On Thursday, after a promotional event in suburban Mumbai, he zoomed off with his leading lady, Jacqueline Fernandez, on his bike, their cars following more sedately.
