Before he took off on a two week European holiday with wife Mira Rajput and daughter, Misha, Shahid Kapoor met with story and screenplay and story writer, Vipul K Rawal - whose last work, Rustom, bagged Akshay Kumar the National Award for Best Actor - for a detailed story narration. The duo were hoping to collaborate on an upcoming project, tentatively titled, Roshni. “Vipul was clear that he wanted Shahid for the lead and after he heard the story, he immediately gave his nod to the drama even though there was no director on board at the time. The meeting lasted three hours with the writer and actor discussing different plot points in the story and how the film would eventually pan out,“ a source close to the development told Mirror, adding that Toilet - Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh will be helming the drama.

Shahid, who will be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmavati as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the husband of Deepika Padukone's titular character, is set to wrap up the film by October. “After that he will sign this film, which is being produced by Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment, and should roll early next-year,“ adds the source.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old actor has gone for his vacation with a dozen interesting scripts. He is keen to sign one-two high-on-content films for 2018 soon.
