Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's close-knit relationship with his sister Bela Bhansali Segal and her husband Deepak Segal is well-known. The duo has also edited several of his films in the past.

And now, his search for a perfect leading lady for his forthcoming production, featuring Meezaan Jafri, has ended in Bela's daughter Sharmin, whose paternal grandfather Mohan Segal had launched Rekha in Sawan Bhadon.

Sharmin has worked as an assistant with Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions on projects like Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani. Seems, she has been prepping for her Bollywood debut for over a year and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles before auditioning for the role.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain, and will be directed by Mangesh Hadawale.
