Akshay Kumar had been busy
wrapping up a schedule of R Balki's Pad Man, the inspiring story of
Arunachalam Muruga
nantham, a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore who invented a low-cost
sanitary pad-making machine, jumping into the promotions of his upcoming
Independence Day satirical-comedy,
Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, before he kicked off Reema Kagti's sports-drama
Gold in Bradford on Saturday. Now, Mirror has learnt that the actor was
also simultaneously prepping for his television show, The Great Indian
Laughter Challenge, which goes on air by September-end.
The 48-year-old actor, who plays the super judge, had long and detailed discussions with the channel before flying off to the UK. “Once Akshay is done with the international shoot of Gold, his comedy show will replace Remo D'Souza's Dance Plus 3 on Star Plus as its format is somewhat similar to the talent hunt show which is on air currently. Besides Akshay it has three popular comedians playing mentors to the contestants but he will have the final say on who goes ahead in the competition. Discussions are on with leading comedians who will play mentors but no names have been finalised yet,“ informs a source close to the development.
