After Shoojit Sircar’s gritty courtroom- drama Pink last year, which sparked a dialogue on consent across the country, Taapsee Pannu opted for some comic relief through David Dhawan’s caper Judwaa 2, in which she anchors Varun Dhawan’s twin act with Jacqueline Fernandez. While shooting for the film is currently under way, Mirror has learnt that the 29-year-old actress has signed her next film, a drama to be directed by Abhinay Deo, in which she will return to the courtroom but as a lawyer. The film goes on the floors in early October in Mumbai.

A source associated with the film revealed to Mirror, “Taapsee is expected to kick off prep at least a month before the shoot commences. At the moment, the team is looking for the lead actor to be paired opposite her.” Abhinay’s last directorial was the John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Force 2 that released last November. The filmmaker just completed filming the Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulhari film, Raita.

Meanwhile, Taapsee, who wrapped up the recreated version of the song ‘Tan Tana Tan’ with Varun and Jacqueline recently, has taken off to Norway for a 12-day vacation after which she will be Portugal-bound on July 18 for a 12-day schedule of another song shoot for Judwaa 2.
